What is tap to earn?
Tap to earn lets you collect points by holding your phone near a small device at the counter - no scanning, no typing. The device reads your account information wirelessly and adds your points in seconds.
It works the same way contactless payment does, using a technology called NFC (Near Field Communication). If your phone can tap to pay, it can tap to earn.
How to use it
At checkout, look for a tap device or an NFC sticker on the counter. Open the Sopoints app, hold your phone within a few centimetres of the device, and wait for the confirmation. Your points appear in your wallet instantly and you will see a success message on screen.
You do not need to unlock your phone or open a specific screen - just have the app installed and wake your phone. The tap works even if you are on the home screen or in another app.
Which phones work?
Most modern smartphones support NFC. On iPhone, it is built into all models from iPhone 7 onward. On Android, look for the NFC toggle in your settings - if it is there, your phone can tap to earn.
If your phone does not support NFC or it is turned off, you can still earn points by scanning a QR code or giving your phone number at the counter.
