Scan & Pay turns the checkout QR into a loyalty moment. A customer scans the merchant's code, pays in the SoPoints app with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and earns points on the same transaction — no second scan, no punch card, no separate loyalty step.
How Scan & Pay works
At checkout the merchant shows a QR code — either from the SoPoints POS terminal for a specific amount, or a reusable code taped by the till. The customer scans it with their phone camera.
If they have the SoPoints app, it opens straight to the payment. If they don’t, the code opens a page that shows the merchant and the amount and points them to the free app — it never asks for card details on the web.
One transaction, points included
Pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — processed securely by Stripe.
Loyalty points are earned automatically on the same payment, with no separate scan.
Dynamic codes carry the exact amount from the POS terminal; static codes let the customer enter it.
Charge codes are short-lived, so an old screenshot of a code can’t be reused.
Payouts settle to the merchant’s own Stripe account.
Nothing new at the counter
Scan & Pay runs on a phone and a QR code — there is no new terminal to buy and no card reader to maintain. Staff show a code; the customer’s phone does the rest.
For merchants already running a SoPoints POS terminal, dynamic charges are generated right from the sale, so the amount is never keyed twice.
