Sopoints is loyalty program software for small businesses in the United States: a points and rewards program, a digital waitlist with reservations and deposits, and QR code payments, all on one account billed in USD. US businesses can sign up today on a free plan with no credit card and no contract.
Most small businesses end up with three vendors for three jobs: a punch-card app for loyalty, a waitlist tablet for the door, and a payment terminal for the counter. Sopoints puts all three on one account. Your customers earn points at the register, join your waitlist from their phone, and pay by scanning a QR code, and every one of those touches lands in the same customer record. You see who your regulars are, how often they come back, and who has lapsed.
Everything runs on devices you already own. The Sopoints POS screen works in a browser on a tablet, phone or counter computer, so there is no hardware to buy and no POS integration required - it works alongside any POS. US merchants are billed in USD, and the free plan includes the core program, digital wallet cards, your customer list with balances and basic analytics. Paid plans add multi-location, advanced campaigns, SMS and priority support; current prices are on the pricing page.

A customer gives their phone number, shows a QR code from their digital card or taps an NFC card. Staff award the points from the Sopoints POS screen and the customer sees their new balance on their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet card. Redeeming works the same way in reverse. There is no app download required to take part, which matters when a line is forming.
Behind the counter you set the earn rate, design the rewards, and schedule campaigns: bonus points on a slow Tuesday, a happy-hour multiplier, a birthday offer, a win-back message to someone who has not been in for a while. Tiers, staff roles and customer analytics such as repeat rate, lapsed customers and redemption rate are all part of the program. You can import an existing customer list with balances, and export yours at any time on every plan.

Sopoints is a coalition loyalty platform. Points are a shared currency, and at participating merchants a customer can spend a balance they earned somewhere else. At a US merchant, 1 point = $0.01 USD, so balances are in dollars, not a mystery exchange rate. The network of participating merchants is Canadian today. In the United States it is growing city by city, and we do not quote a US merchant count because we would rather you not plan around one.
What that means in practice: your own loyalty program works fully from day one, exactly as a stand-alone program would. Your customers earn and redeem with you, you keep your customer list, and the coalition benefit arrives as businesses near you join. If a shared network across many local merchants is the whole reason you are looking, the honest answer is that in most US cities it is early.

The Sopoints waitlist replaces the clipboard and the pager. Guests join by scanning a QR at the door, at a self-service kiosk on a tablet, from your website widget or from a public join page. They get a text with a live position link and another when the table is ready. Wait estimates learn from your own venue history, guests who do not return are marked no-show automatically after a grace period, and daily stats show where the door slowed down.
Reservations add time slots, capacity, table and zone assignment, and deposits through Stripe. You can authorize a card hold at booking and release it when the guest arrives, or charge at booking, with a no-show fee capped at the hold and cancellation policy tiers with a refund window. Payouts go to your own Stripe account. Waitlist texts honour STOP automatically and non-urgent messages are held during quiet hours in your venue's time zone. Guests can earn loyalty points on the same account.

Scan & Pay lets a customer pay you by scanning a QR code. You show a dynamic code for a fixed amount from the Sopoints POS screen, or print a static code and let the customer type the amount. The customer scans with their phone camera and pays in the Sopoints app through Stripe by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and earns loyalty points on the same transaction. Card details are never entered on the web and Sopoints never stores a card number.
Payouts land in your own Stripe account in USD, your business name appears on the cardholder's statement, and refunds are issued from your dashboard with a proportional points clawback. There is no terminal or card reader to buy. To use Scan & Pay you complete Stripe onboarding and have the feature on your plan.

The United States has no single federal privacy law. Instead there is a patchwork of state laws, including California's CCPA and CPRA, Texas's TDPSA, Florida's FDBR, Illinois's BIPA for biometrics and New York's SHIELD Act for data security, plus federal rules for marketing: the TCPA for texts and CAN-SPAM for email. Sopoints is built to sit comfortably inside that patchwork. Consent is captured explicitly with unticked boxes, STOP replies are honoured automatically, customers can request deletion of their account, and you can export your own customer list at any time.
Sopoints identifies customers by phone number, QR code or NFC tap only - never by facial recognition, fingerprints or any other biometric. Card data is handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS, so Sopoints never stores a card number. None of this is legal advice; your obligations depend on your state and your program, and a short review with your own counsel is worth the time.

Every US city has its own business corridors, seasons and state law. We have written a dedicated page for each of these, covering the neighbourhoods where independents cluster and the rules that apply there.

A few honest notes before you sign up. The Sopoints customer app interface is English only; you write your own reward names and messages, so program copy can be in any language, but the app chrome is not localised. The coalition network is newer in the US than in Canada, so the "spend points earned elsewhere" benefit is early in most American cities. POS integrations are not part of the product - Sopoints works alongside your POS rather than syncing with it. And there is no white-label or custom-branded app; customers use the Sopoints app and your branded digital wallet card.
